| Country Club makes
historic shift to public course
Starting December 10, the
doors to the Apple Valley
Country Club are open to the
public. Under management of the
Town of Apple Valley, the entire
facility is now a public
amenity, part of the Town’s
growing list of recreational and
leisure activities. The golf
course, driving range, pro shop,
tennis courts and dining room
are available for immediate
public use.
The golf course is open
Tuesday through Sunday from 7
a.m. to
5 p.m. while the dining room is
open to the public for lunch
from
11 a.m. to 3 p.m., plus
breakfasts on the weekend.
Expanded dining options,
including breakfast every day,
begin on January 2.
The complete transition from
a private club to a public
course will take place over the
course of a few months. The
December 10 “soft opening” will
be followed by a grand opening
on January 17 and a charitable
golf tournament in April.
The entire process is
contingent upon the successful
resolution of the dispute over
legal ownership of the club’s
water rights. In the meantime,
the Town will implement minor
improvements, such as upgraded
lighting fixtures, paint and
carpet. The tennis courts are
expected to be re-surfaced and
coin-operated lights installed
for night-time play. More
substantial rehabilitation will
be deferred until the ownership
transfer is finalized.
